English Language Proficiency Requirements

Applicants to the University of Calgary in Qatar are held to the same standard of education as applicants to the University of Calgary in Canada. In order to be successful, students must meet a level of English Language Proficiency to understand new vocabulary, advanced techniques and research.

Students are required to submit proof of English Language Proficiency by presenting official IELTS or TOEFL results prior to the application deadline.

Students who do not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for direct entry to our Bachelor of Nursing programs will be considered for entry to our Foundation Program.

Alternative ELP Criteria

 

If you have completed a minimum of three years of high school/post-secondary education in a country considered English speaking you may be exempt from the English Language Proficiency Requirement. For a list of all countries exempt from English Language Proficiency, please click here.

If you come from a country not on this list, but feel that you should be considered exempt (for example, you attended an international American/Canadian High School or lived in Canada your entire life prior to high school), please write us a letter indicating why you feel that you should be exempt with supporting documentation.
